These curtains have a felt insert that makes them extra thick which seems to help with keeping the cold air on the window side. The noise level in the room seems to be dampened.

I live near a fire station and busy traffic road. While they are not completely sound-proof, they did make a difference and I sleep without any issues now. Before I got them, I was having trouble sleeping with so much noise outside.

I don't think I've ever wanted to rave about a product like I do these curtains. Excellent craftsmanship! The curtains are the best I have ever purchased not only in looks, but also how well they do what the manufacturer said. The quality of materials exceeded my expectations. These are like buying custom made drapes. They are beautiful to look at, the material is thick and soft. The liner surpasses every single curtain that I bought before this. I use them in the winter in my three season sun room to help keep my plants warm at night now that the temperatures have dropped below freezing and I brought my plants in. The velvet is so pretty and it blocks cold and noise so well I am truly amazed. I have summer curtains up during the hot months to help block out the sun rays but, I like the look of these so much I think I will leave them up all year round. My sun room stays much warmer than I have ever experienced with other cold blocking curtains. 5 stars for every aspect of this product in looks, quality of the fabrics to how well it actually does what it says. Bravo!

Definitely blackout and quite a bit soundproof there's a daycare behind my home and I did not hear them this morning the only thing I did not like is they are very wrinkly even after you take them out of the dryer I did not dry them all the way because I was afraid they would shrink they did not the ironing took all day and it was difficult , so make sure when you iron them they are still damp and you're going to need a lot of elbow grease!! Other than that the quality is good

I feel like I'm sleeping at an Air BnB now in my bedroom after hanging these curtains. They are WONDERFUL! Very dark, no light at all through them and they do dampen sound as well. I wish the layers weren't open at the bottom, my cat likes to try and climb up in them...yikes! but otherwise, amazing purchase. I also bought them for the living room when we watch movies and for another bedroom in the home.

They really muffle the sound of dogs barking....I have a dog care business, so am thrilled with my purchase!! Just bought another set :-)
