Had an area with too much sun armt beach house in early am and late afternoon. These do the trick. Just put up so no idea how they will hold up. Got the rods from Big Lots

I have hung them on my back porch in a very windy spot! So far they are holding up well and the rope tie at the bottom is a great bonus. They look more expensive than they were.

I ordered this set to block the blinding flood light at my apartment complex. I also wanted something that could block the wind and rain when on the balcony. Plus, some privacy is a bonus a times.
1st: Aesthetic
The fabric is better than I expected. It feels like a cross between a microfiber and a light denim. Plush, yet sturdy without being too heavy. Feels good to touch and looks great. Also, the grommets give a nice aesthetic. Yes, there were creases and wrinkles when I opened the package, but that is to be expected. I simply steamed those out on an ironing board.
2nd: Function
The opening for my balcony is 110 inches. So I ordered the 60 inch width instead of the 50 inch width set. That way, there is enough slack to fill up the space from the material wanting to fold along the hanging rod. So make sure you buy a set slightly larger than your opening. Now, when I close the double panels it is flush and only a little material leftover. Looks great fully closed and overlaps perfectly without light leaking in from the middle. I guess if I wanted to go ham I could add velcro to keep them fastened in the center.
Also, the second channel is a must for wind. I installed mine in reverse of the normal way so that I don't hear the metal on metal sound when moving the panels. Also, it made more sense for the supplied bottom wind rope to glide along the metal of the grommets so it doesn't fray the fabric pockets of wind pockets.
Also...about those wind pockets.
There is actually 2 sets. One is spaced loops like you find on a pair of pants. But there is second fully encapsulated pocket stitched as well if you want that, which sewn directly underneath it.
Nowhere in the description was this mentioned, but I found that as a nice option / surprise.
3rd: Quality
5 stars...it does a perfect job of blocking the bright as the sun flood light that was driving me crazy.
Also, the water resistance was apparent as I was ironing them the water bead up until I pressed doen into the fabric with the iron.
So it's a high quality water resistance, not some waxy crap that will erode overtime.
Final thoughts:
I love it. It does all the things I wanted it to do and even surpassed my expectations at this price point.
If you buy these, people will think you spent twice as much due to the quality.
Let them think that...and smile knowing you got a good deal on this high quality product.
